Just a quick blog to recap a couple of events that have happened in the first part of 2015!
The band played a New Years show at Merriman’s in Kapalua. We had a blast! David Wolf and I started off the show as an acoustic duo playing a mix of covers and originals. We played out side on the patio under the stars over looking the beautiful Kapalua bay. This spot was perfect because when Toby and Ian joined us on keys and drums there was room for dancing. Merriman’s is a great place to have an event band. We have done a bunch of events there in the past and the staff is always courteous and the food (if we have time to eat) is always delicious.
A couple of days later we played as an event band at the Haiku Mill. The lovely Erin Smith was a special guest on vocals. We did a slowed down version of “I want you back” an old Jackson 5 cover with Erin on lead vocals. It sounded great! The private event went off with out any problems and everybody went home tired from all the dancing. The very talented Anna Kim , who was the photographer for the event, took the beautiful picture of the Haiku mill lavishly decked out. If you would like to see more of her work check out www.annakimphotography.com for more details. Ola Shaw and “We Are More audio” provided sound for both shows.
Last Sunday, Easter, we played our most recent event at the Ritz in Kapalua for Valve (a big gaming software company). We brought the whole six piece event band to rock out for 2 hours for all 800 of their employees and family members . We ended the show with “Uptown Funk” a Bruno mars cover that every body seemed to enjoy.
If any one is on the north shore of Maui this Saturday night (April 11th) I will be playing at Charley’s Restaurant and Saloon in Paia from 6-8 solo acoustic.
